Ann Grandy, Board Member
![]() Ann Grandy grew up in Glenwood, Minnesota, where she returned 17 years ago to raise a family and for the last 12 years has worked as collection manager at the Pope County Museum. In between, she went off to the see the world and receive a Masters of Liberal Arts in History from Harvard.
In addition to serving on the MALHM Board, she also is on the Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) and the Collections Management Software task force. Ann manages to be productive in her many meetings; you will often see her highly engaged in discussions while spinning yarn or knitting a sock or other project. Her dream is to one day complete the entire process and create a sweater from raw fleece. (She might even raise the sheep herself on the family farm. She has her eye on a particular kind of Scottish sheep that would make the best yarn.) She knit the sweater she is wearing in this portrait. In addition, she volunteers as the Service Unit Coordinator for Girls Scouts in Pope County and is a troop leader. Ann loves working in her hometown, where she enjoys "researching and sharing our history. I have the best job in the county." |
