Nicollet County Historical Society Executive Director
The Executive Director supervises the everyday operations of the Nicollet County Historical
Society including, but not limited to, site administration (five sites), collections management,
interpretation, programming, marketing, fundraising, public relations, and fiscal management.
The Executive Director works with the NCHS board to ensure the long-term direction and
viability of the organization. S/he acts as the public face for the historical society in the
communities it serves by participating in local committees and organizations, interacting with
government officers,engaging area businesses, and working with other museum professionals.
The Executive Director is responsible for managing society finances. The Executive Director
oversees the preservation and interpretation of the Society’s permanent collections.
Minimum Qualifications - B.A. in History, English, Business, or related field experience. The
Executive Director should have management experience supervising staff and finances.
