Last year, MALHM held its first workshop for house museums at Ramsey House in St. Paul. The experiment was a success, and the second annual workshop is slated for Thursday, Oct. 26, at two Little Falls sites with historic homes: Linden Hill Estate and the Charles A. Lindbergh Historic Site.
The workshop will include tours of both sites as well as sessions on using evaluation methods to improve programming and creating living history tours. Attendees also will have a chance to network with house museum colleagues. Save the date now; more details coming soon. The workshop is being planned by MALHM's House Museum Affinity Group leadership: Chair Jayne Becker, Vice Chair Holly Johnson (Hormel Historic Home - Austin), Secretary Milissa Brooks-Ojibway (Glensheen - Duluth), and Eve Burlingame (Eidem Homestead - Brooklyn Park). Thank you to Julia Mueller of Linden Hill and Melissa Peterson of the Minnesota Historical Society's Lindbergh site for their support. Register online with a credit card or mail in a check. See complete brochure, with mail-in form and more details. Cost is $15 for MALHM members or $25 for non-members. Lunch is not included. Members who sign up multiple people from their site save $10 for EACH attendee, as well as other great discounts and benefits. See Membership page for more details.
