Conference Scholarships (NEW!)

For the first time, the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums (MALHM) will offer scholarships to its Annual Meeting & Conference. These scholarships are intended for first time attendees (at any stage of their careers) and will cover the cost of registration.

Applicants do not need to be MALHM members to apply. The submission deadline is Friday, December 19, 2025.

Total Scholarships Available for 2026: 2

Scholarships include:

  • All events, sessions, and meals included in conference registration (Tuesday, April 28 – Thursday, April 30, 2026)

  • $300 stipend

  • One-year individual membership to MALHM

Eligibility

  • First time attendee (must not have previously attended the conference)

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • MALHM board members, scholarships reviewers, and their immediate family are ineligible

Requirements

  • Attend main days of conference. Preconference day (Tuesday, April 28th) is included in the scholarships, but optional

  • Must volunteer for at least two (2) shifts during the conference (approx. 2-3 work hours total)

  • May be asked to submit brief written experience & photo for publication

Timeline

  • October 1: Scholarship application opens

  • December 19: Scholarship application closes

  • January 16: Scholarship recipients notified (at latest)
